New DroidMod 1.0 Boot-Loop Workaround (v0.3)

My father’s phone continued to have issues with the last hybrid SM2.0.3/DM1.0 build that I posted here.  After having him run for a while on a limited kernel that I compiled, I finally updated him to a newer kernel that I made.

This new build is hybrid build of DroidMod and my own custom kernel. This one has most of the bells & whistles (including the ability to overclock), but it boots at the standard 550MHz. This should prevent the problems found in the DM1.0 release, while still giving you the ability to experiment with overclocking (AT YOUR OWN RISK) if you so choose; to do so, just get SetCPU from the market and try it out.
I have been working with Koush on the compiled-from-source CyanogenMod port for the Droid. This is a DroidMod port of the same kernel that I am building for him. It is running the latest available Google source of 2.6.29 with the addition of netfilter (for wireless tether), modular ext3/ext4 and VPN TUN support as well as five CPU frequency settings (250, 550, 600, 800 and 1000). The phone will default to Min: 250 / Max: 550 on boot and will remain that way unless changed by SetCPU.

My father’s phone (which could not boot DM 1.0) is blazing along at 1GHz with no apparent problems. I am running the same kernel with Koush’s CyanogenMod port on my phone with no issues. If you have still had problems with DM1.0 (or just want to play with something new), feel free to test out this build – but, as always, use at your own risk.
