Creative Commons Music
Free is good. It’s pretty obvious that I am an open source advocate, but that can reach beyond just open source software. I love the idea of a free society where creativity is not held back with such tight copyright and intellectual property laws. Everyone has the right to be credited for thier work, and paid if someone else is making money off of their work, but restricting media to the point where it is unusable is just counterproductive.
Enter the creative commons license. You may notice that that is how my site is licensed as well. Well, Wired magazine has helped spread this idea with a CD being distributed with their latest issue with music from popular artists released under the CC license. Good stuff, I’ll definetly be trying to check it out. You can read more info about this here.
