Wow… a lot of fucked up stuff happened on this day:

1890 - Artist Vincent van Gogh died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Auvers, France, at age 37.
1940 - Germany’s all-out blitz against Britain begins during World War II.
1968 - Pope Paul VI reaffirms the Roman Catholic Church’s stance against artificial methods of birth control.
1990 - The ruling Communist People’s Revolutionary Party retains control of both houses of parliament in the first free elections in Mongolia since communist takeover in 1921.
2000 - A US soldier, Staff Sgt Frank J Ronghi, pleads guilty to the murder and forcible sodomy of an ethnic Albanian girl in Kosovo. He is later convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

1883 - Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini born.
1965 - American dick, Bryce Lutz born.
